Who We Are
Promoting social and economic justice in Santa Cruz county
For over 25 years Santa Cruz Community Ventures (SCCV) has worked to promote economic justice through financial empowerment, asset building, and advocacy. We are aware of the great benefit our innovative programs have had in the lives of many. And we are also aware of how far we have yet to travel as a region to achieve financial equity.
We recognize that over the past decades, as much as there has been strong efforts to address poverty, wage parity, and affordable housing issues, the fact remains that the gap between our neighbors continues to increase.
At SCCV, we believe that our community is ready for a deeper conversation and to try new frameworks, new models to help reshape our future. We are ready, to help frame our legacy as a region that lives up to the vision of who we are: a region open and available to all.
The time is now for us to join together beyond a conversation to new approaches. And while it will be messy (what innovation isn't) and hard (what change isn't?) we can do this.
We can do this while we, and our partners, equip people in our community with tools to achieve lasting financial security and independence. We can do this because we believe in equity. We can do this because that is who we are and who we want to be.
